Loans for emergency

We have called a contractor to do some renovation and kitchen remodeling. Two weeks after we picked the tiles, the contractor finally came back to us with the quotation. Though we are a bit concern the quotation is a few hundred dollars over our budget, it’s still within our buffer zone.

The contractor also tried to get us to do the garage floor, that’s a big no no for us. We don’t want to exceed the budget and end up in debt. We have been careful with how we spend our money and have saved up emergency fund for unexpected that may happen. We hope that we would never have to resort to taking No Fax Payday Loans to cover the rainy days. If you unfortunately need fast cash to cover the “unexpected” and payday is not here yet, though may not be the best solution, payday loans are one of the resources that you can consider.

Home after retirement

Taking care of the elderly is never easy, it can be very demanding physically, mentally and emotionally especially if the elderly person has special needs like Alzheimer’s. At some points, the elderly person may be better being cared for by care specialists in nursing homes. Time has changed, many elderly people also preferred to stay on their own and not living with their children. That’s why retirement community and nursing homes are coming out everywhere as the population aging.

My parents in law are both cancer survivors. They wouldn’t want to stay with their children! They have sold their single family home, took the money to buy an apartment at this retirement community. At the retirement apartment, they are provided three meals a day, cleaning and laundry services. They still can pretty much take care of themselves right now. However, if circumstances changed, they are ready to move into the nursing facilities at the same place. They are pretty happy at this place and the quality of its services.

Hair loss

I was picking up so much hairs from the floor during my weekly cleaning just now, it worries me. My hair has been dropping quite a lot lately, it doesn’t seem normal to have this many hairs drop everyday. I am puzzled and don’t know what is going on. I wonder it has to do with the medication that I am taking? May be I should tell the doctor and discuss with him when I see him next.

By the rate it goes, who knows I am going to turn bald very soon. Should I consider using hair loss product like provillus? Would it help to curb or at least slow down the hair loss? I cannot imagine if I am turning bald one day. I would probably wear a wig, maybe just stay at home and not going out,  or just wear a hat or a scarf to cover up all the time?

Portable DVD player

My Iraqi friends left for New Zealand last week. They wanted me to help them to sell off some of the furniture and electrical stuff that they didn’t manage to sell before they left.

Looking at the piles, I saw a portable DVD player and a TV that I may just buy from them. It’s a portable 10 inch DVD player. We do not own a television right now and I have been thinking of getting one. I do not watch much of TV, but it would be nice to watch DVD on a bigger screen, rather than the 15″ computer monitor. Since it’s portable, can bring to my parents’ house during the weekend. Then, I can watch my favorite DVD on the older TV at the back room, no need to wait till everyone finished their TV program and go to sleep to start watching mine!

shopping cart software for online stores

When I was first arrived in America, I was so fascinated with the ease of online shopping. I would spend a consider amount of money on Ebay and Amazon each time I got my paycheck. I was addicted to the thrill of bidding on Ebay and probably made some deadly beginner’s mistakes like bidding to beat others.:-)

I would say I am totally amused and fascinated with Amazon’s online shopping cart that allow one to wheel virtually through the shelves of books. Since that early exposure to online shopping, of course I have been shopping at many other stores. I have even dabbled with the thought of setting up my own shopping cart for an online store. However, I got busy and did not do anything with it.

After I sold the mortal and brick business, the thought of setting of an online store entered my mind again recently. I discovered Ashop Commerce which has shopping cart software that looks to be easy to integrate. I’m not really well versed with all the technical technical things, so it’s great that it offers good support and has an easy to use interface. Maybe one day when I decide to set up an online store, I would look this service up again.

fly away to sleep

When it comes to bedsheets, I prefer the pastel color instead of bright colors. As a child, my mother will buy all the very cheerful Childrens Bedding that I really hate. No, my mother didn’t practice democracy, whatever she bought, I have to use.:-)

When I started working and earned my first paycheck,  the first thing I did was to buy myself a set of pastel green bedsheets and a blanket with pastel green background and pinkish flowers spreading all over. I still have the blanket, which I use when I sleepover at my parents place. My 7 years old niece called it the “cooling blanket”. After so much washing, the texture becomes very soft and it feels good on your skin, kind of a cooling sensation, I think that’s what my niece means. Purple Butterfly beddingPink Butterfly Bedding

I was looking at this site selling bedding products today. I really like this elegant butterfly bedding set, with light hues of purple or pink, you will be able sleep like a baby each night. I think the simple design and butterfly theme will accent and enhance any room.

Get paid to blog

Leah’s Cafe has been approved for another get paid to blog ad network for a week.

We all know advertise on blogs is THE trend right now. Smorty is another ad network that connects advertisers with bloggers, where advertisers can pay bloggers to write opinion posts with links back to the advertisers site. Since I have taken blog for money more seriously and rely on it as main source of income. I joined Smorty for more opportunities to get paid for blogging.

I have never imagined blogging can be a job when I first started blogging in the beginning of the year, so this is quite an unexpected turnout. It has never in my wildest dream that I could be in a position to help others with this new found money making tool. Some stay at home mommies that I talked to are interested to have me teach them how to do it. My friend Jo who runs a NGO for single mothers also talked about training some of the single mothers to have a source of income that may eventually allow them to stay home with their children. Isn’t that exciting?
