Went for the movie “I am Legend” today.

My ex-colleague CF was in town to settle some business. We decided to meet and went downtown to have dinner at this touristy place. They have so many variety of food to choose and most were good, we ended up ordered too many things and we were stuffed!

Since this new movie place is so near where both of us live and we haven’t been there, we decided to pop in for a movie. We were not sure what were showing at this theater, but we picked “I am Legend” among a few others when we were there.

The movie starring Will Smith is kind of dark, eerie and emotionally shattering. Much of the firm is about the solitary and hopelessness of a single remnant in New York City, after a major epidemic of disease that killed everyone else. But, it’s not boring at all, the whole thing is rather beautifully haunting and genuinely moving.

I would think this movie is classified as action thriller, but this is not your normal loud and jittery action movie. There are quite a bit of melancholy scenes and contemplation that you normally won’t find in an action-thriller. Overall, it’s an entertaining movie, except for the last 10 minutes, the movie ended quite abruptly, maybe they were running out of budget. :-)
