Server was down

I haven’t been able to access all the blogs this morning because the server that hosted all my blogs went down. The service provided by my host has been good, this is not the first time this has happened, but it’s the first time that it lasted for more than an hour. I hope this is not the beginning of a nightmare.

I do wonder what causes the server to be down for more than an hour this time. Virus attack?

Happy New Year (belated)!

Thank you for your wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, my apologies for the late New Year’s greetings. I spent the Christmas nursing a cold, then the internet connection has been down for the past few days, which has been very very frustrating. Though it was a good break since it meant I had to take my nose out of my desktop, ha, ha…

Happy New Year to all! May 2008 be the year you get to have the time to do all the things you want to do. My wish on the top of the list is to clean out the “stuffs” in the house that I’ve been unable to do for the past two years. I either have to give away, sell or just dump many of the stuffs to prepare for the big move in spring.

Sending linky love to you

I found out from Pelf’s blog about this CommentLuv plugin and just installed it on this blog. What it does is simply visit your blog and attempt to scrape the last post you made and display it here under your comment.

The plugin is rather simple and probably an easy way to pass some linky love to you for commenting! If you’re interested to install the same on your blog, go ahead and download Commentluv and start spreading the love around!

For those of you who are reading this in the feeds, this is another reason for you to jump on this blog to leave me a comment.:-)

I Signed this Blog Up for PPP!

Guess what? This blog is approved for PayPerPost today !!

After seeing many bloggers earning money by writing paid-post, I started writing paid posts on the other blog that hosted on Blogspot. When I learned that many advertisers prefer self hosted blogs with own domains, I bought this domain and went dot com with the money earned from writing paid posts on the other blog.

This blog is three months old, so I submitted it to PayPerPost in beginning of the week. Today, I got the approval email!

This is my first PayPerPost post on Leah’s Cafe. Since this blog hasn’t obtained any PR, it’s very unlikely that many opps will be available. You will be seeing some paid posts scatter sparingly on this blog from now on. Whenever opportunity presents itself, I will take it, but will try to keep it relevant.:-)

I have some ideas to start another blog but was not able to pull it off because of being sick with the flu and then the strep throat last couple of weeks. It’s going to be a new venture !

Despite of all the new rules, many of us still do Payperpost, I think currently it’s still THE network that has the most variety of opps. I like the varieties, which mean I can pick and choose. Though there will be a struggle between picking a more relevant topic or the higher paid one.

Hosting Plan I use

A few dotcom wannabes asked me what hosting company do I use since I mentioned in my previous post that my hosting plan allows multiple domains.

I have signed up a Tera-Host package with Hostican, the plan includes 500,000MB (500GB) of disk space, unmetered monthly bandwidth, a free for life domain, allows unlimited subdomain and add on domains. I paid slightly less than RM200 for a year by utilising the $65 coupon code. I am happy with the support and service so far, initially when I have difficulty getting around, I get rather quick responds to the support tickets submitted. Hostican provides a easy peasy c-panel that comes with fantastico, a very user friendlly interface that you can use to install/upgrade the wordpress software.

*No, this is not a sponsored post :-)

D-List

*** I have since put back the nofollow in the comments.

I have removed the nofollow on my blog. You may not know that when you leave a comment on a blog, a “no follow” tag is automatically inserted so that the link is NOT spidered by search engines. Therefore when you leave comments on blogs that aren’t using Do Follow yet, it wouldn’t increase backlinks in the search engine.

To make it easier for all of YOU to find blogs that are using Do Follow, I’m joining the “D List“. Not only can you visit the blogs on this list, leave a comment, and get a REAL link back to your site (because they’re all using Do Follow), you’ll increase links to your blog by adding your blog to the D list.

This DoFollow Blog list is courtesy of Courtney Tuttle and was created originally by Coleen as the D-List.
