Government office can be efficient
Was at the Birth Registration office to obtain an abstract of my birth certificate yesterday. It was a fast and good experience. It costs five bucks to get an abstract and within 20 minutes, I was out of the Birth Registration office. (The best thing is: the government offices moved into our neighborhood recently, it takes only 3 minutes to drive there from our house.)
The clerk who attended to me looks pretty young, probably in her early 20s. While waiting for the other clerk to do the search, I did some small talks with the receptionist. She agreed with me that people in this office are much younger now, she also mentioned that they were many old staffs retired in the last few years. Hopefully, as the old ones are gone, the new ones are starting a new service culture, fast, efficient and rid of bureaucracy!
